Brits are going mad about potholes!

27th June 2011

The UK has an estimate of 2 million pot holes on its roads.

The potholes are a cause of driver aggravation, causing damage to vehicles and posing as safety issues especially in sever weather.

Although transport vehicles are improving, there seems to be a massive decay in British transport routes. The biggest reason for the neglecting roads is budget, according to one report it would take the UK government a total of 11 years to repair all of the transport routes in the UK.

Leading website, confused.com is in the process of documenting pothole maintenance and awareness;

Mike Hoban, Chief Marketing Officer at Confused.com says: “Although repairing these roads is obviously the long term solution, something needs to be done now. Currently the UK’s road signs include warnings for wild horses, wild animals, cattle and even toads but potholes aren’t considered worthy enough? A pothole road sign is a vital step in preventing accidents and reducing insurance claims whilst road maintenance continues.”
